When you first arrive: we know you’re in a new, unknown place, and your story before may have been traumatic and even just the trip to us may be stressful. We’ll go at your pace and ensure you’re given the safety and comfort to decompress.

We will never punish you for doing something dogs may do: accidents in the house, having fun shredding something we preferred you not to do, or expressing your fear and uncertainty through barking or growling. It is our responsibility to guide you, to help you feel confident, and help you understand what behaviors we prefer. If you haven’t learned those yet that’s our job!

We want you to thrive while you’re here with us and promise to set you up for success. We’ll make sure you are getting physical and mental enrichment and necessary rest.

When it comes to receiving pets and affection we’ll make sure you don’t feel pressure and we’ll respect your space.

When looking for your new family, we’ll make sure that it’s a right fit for you first.
